“This island isn’t on our map,” the mate insisted.
“Well, I’m not sure. If I didn’t know any better, I‘d say someone tried to erase this spot on the map and colored over the mark in blue,” the captain explained.
The captain and mate studied the map carefully. The crew remained edgy and eager. This was the first land sighted in several days of desperate sailing.
Mutiny was a real possibility.
“I agree,” the mate finally offered. “Why would someone do that?”
“I don’t know, but we need fresh water,” the captain replied. “Would you be up to go ashore?”
