Johnny watched as his grandfather loaded bricks into a wheelbarrow.
“Are we still going to visit Grandma’s grave today?”
His grandfather nodded and carefully placed a few bags of sand and masonry cement on the bricks.
Johnny smiled and picked a few nearby dandelions.
“I know we have a long walk to the cemetery,” his grandfather explained, “but we need to work quickly.”
Johnny was puzzled.
“Can you carry my bucket?” his grandfather asked. “We’ll get water from the stream near the church.”
“I’ve seen things lately,” his grandfather answered, “and I think Grandma’s grave needs to be reinforced.”
