The drive from Charleston, South Carolina to Charleston, West Virginia took just over seven hours. Terry arrived in the capital of the Mountain State in the early hours of the morning.
Terry removed two garbage bags from his trunk. He poked a few holes in each so that gases from decomposition didn’t allow the bags to float.
From a bridge near the railroad station, Terry tossed each bag into the Kanawha River before beginning the long drive back to the beach.
The vacationer had lived in West Virginia. Terry figured authorities may assume the poor fool had never left home.
