Drawing inspiration from the Wellington avalanche of 1910, I wrote “Snowslide” in February of 2017. This piece originally appeared with Fictional Pairings in March of that year and was paired with “039” by iazabo.
I live relatively near the Snowbelt that annually terrorizes the Great Lakes, and, as a public educator, snow has a major influence over my work schedule. Although snow is usually a great hero in my eyes (delays, snow days, and early releases), accumulated frozen precipitation is the antagonist of this particular short story.
